No, you haven’t read that wrong, it really was the third meeting of Linfield and Glentoran in ten days.
This match, a second league game, saw Linfield take the lead after two minutes when Philip Lowry headed home unmarked at a corner.
That was the cue for Linfield to storm on through and take control of the game. Frustratingly, they didn’t, given Glentoran more encouragement than they should have been given.
Managed to get some sunset shots of Windsor Park pre-match. Not the best shots mind. Maybe the next midweek game during the summer months, I might get lucky.
For fifty minutes, this game felt like a County Antrim Shield tie, and only came to life when Linfiled went 2-0 up.
Again, Glentoran were let back into the game when they pulled one back, before Chris Casement restored the two goal lead, which was wiped out straight away by a Daryl Fordyce penalty.
For all their possession, Glentoran never looked like getting an equalizer, despite Elliott Morris hilarious attempts at heading up for corners in the deluded belief that he was going to score.
Managed to get some OK photos, nothing special.
Hopefully, come 5pm on Saturday, i’ll have some title celebration photos.
