Was at the Irish Cup Final today between Linfield and Crusaders at Windsor Park, a repeat of last year’s final.
Like last year, Linfield won, though this year was far more emphatic, by a score of 4-1.
There were times in the first half, when Crusaders looked dangerous. Any chances that fell their way weren’t taken, and Linfield’s were.
After getting a goal back earlier in the second half, I thought it was going to be one of those nervous afternoons. Thankfully, Michael Carvill scored a beautiful free-kick to make it 3-1.
From there, it was game over, with Jamie Mulgrew making it 4-1 towards the end.
Same complaint as last week, with supporters invading the pitch as soon as the presentation was made. It would have been nice to see the trophy you know. Utter dickheads.
An extra complaint, was Linfield wearing their new away kit. Not only did it look hideous (It might sell well amongst Polish people living in Belfast, as Poland are the only team who can pull off white shirts with red shorts) but there was no clash of shirts and no need to wear it.
Anyway, managed to get some ok photos. Enjoy.
PS : It was my last match attended this season, barring the Manchester United v Irish League XI game, and in the week of that game, i’ll be doing my statistical analysis of the season, as well as a month by month photo round-up
